Beyond golf: Other sports to enjoy at Punta Cana Resort

You can't imagine how many activities and things you can do without leaving the resort. With a wide range of options for guests of all ages, we listed some of the many sports activities for guests to enjoy :

Oscar de La Renta Tennis Center

It offers a variety of programs targeting each age and stage for each guest tennis development. Within the tennis center, some of the amenities offered are tennis pro-shop, a Snack Bar, 12 tennis courts and a full equipped Technogym.

The tennis center has 14 ball boys to chase tennis balls, 7 ball boy players for match playing and three professional assistants ready for private, semi-private, camps, groups, singles and doubles strategy lessons.

With 12 tennis courts, some of them under ITF standards, for PRO players.

It also counts with 9 clay courts, one Har-Tru court, one natural grass court and one hard surface deco-turf court. Four of these tennis courts. were built under the IFT standards, where players from the ATP can enjoy their vacations and practice for any of the four grand-slam tennis tournaments.

Padel also takes place in the resort. A mix between Tennis and Squash, is great for all ages since it’s easy to learn and pick up the skills. This sport is usually played in doubles on a closed court surrounded by walls of glass. A padel court is a third of the size of a tennis court.

Equestrian Center

Horseback riding is another option, with one and two hour beach rides daily and a romantic hour long weekly sunset adventure. For newcomers, there’s a special ride called Meet Punta Cana, a unique tour of the beautiful resort.

As a new service for guests, riding classes for beginners are now taking place. Learn the basics in horse care and riding; then test your new skill on one of our beach tours. For the younger horse fans, ponies and school horses are ready to teach them all they need to know about the great sport of riding. And don’t miss the opportunity to check out some of the beautiful horses that are boarding with us.

You can practice equestrian sports, or enjoy the place in a family atmosphere.

Punta Cana Polo Club

Located withint the Equestrian Center, you have the opportunity to interact with and ride polo horses, as well as practice and improve your polo skills with the help of seasoned instructors. The Polo Club offers from one-hour lessons to tailor-made courses and packages that fits your schedule.

Bike Tours

Rediscover the joy of nature on self-guided bike tours within Punta Cana Resort & Club. Explore the diversity of the resort and low-density community and learn about our eco projects, tropical trails, and endless white-sand beaches.

This activity is included for guests, adults and children. Children under 12 years old must be under adult supervision. We suggest you bring sunscreen, repellent and water for the ride.

Recognized by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) as a Five Star Instructor Development Dive Resort, the Aquatic Center offers underwater tours to sunken ships for experienced divers as well as PADI certification classes for all who want to learn this great sport.

Deep Sea Fishing
It is a famous destination for big game fishing, with a variety of half-day and full-day deep sea fishing excursions on boats ranging from 37 to 54 feet. It also hosts numerous summer tournaments, including ESPN2's Billfishing Xtreme Tournament.

SUP Padle Boarding

Punta Cana is a perfect location to start Stand Up Paddle Surfing. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced surfer you will find Punta Cana a joy to SUP. With shallow flat water protected by the reef Playa Blanca is the ideal spot to learn and just a short paddle out to the reef and you’ll find smooth rolling swells ideal for SUP Surfing!

Kite Club has a full line up of SUP Surf Boards for rental and experienced Instructors to get you on your way. A great alternative to Kite Boarding on no wind days. We also run SUP tours along the coast and to the fresh water lagoons.

Kiteboarding
Kite Club Punta Cana also offers the very best in kiteboarding lessons. All instructors are IKO Certified and are supervised by IKO Examiner and training master Jonathan Dodds. Playa Blanca at the Resort is the ideal and safest place to learn to kiteboard. The flat waist-deep water and the steady cross-onshore trade winds combine to create a safe and controlled environment.
